Splash Inn Dive Resort Client Love!
“Return? Hell yeah”
Spent four night at Splash in with my girl friend on a lil get away from Utila, the location is hands down the best, they have their own dive school witch comes in handy or just head down 15 feet and there is west end divers.. The location is the best.
“Very warm and friendly service”
The folks at Splash Inn and dive shop were great. Excellent service by the whole staff. You could tell the dive masters were really enjoying what they were doing. Great location also. One other thing; they even refunded our last night's stay and dive fees because we had to cut our trip short by a day. Very very gracious.
“Great for diving!”
This place is in the heart of Scuba Diving Heaven. The service is excellent the food is delicious and the rooms are clean and comfortable. If you are a diver, this is the place to stay. The dive shop is among the best and the diving is fantastic.
“Incredible dives & awesome staff!”
I stayed and dove at Splash Inn Dive Resort during December 2012 & without a doubt, they were incredible. The marine life along the reefs is in itself stunning, but the competitive pricing of the diving meant that I could keep on diving & knew I wasn't going to break the bank. In addition, I did an Enriched Air Course which was great, and took 2 night dives. The quality of the equipment at the dive shop was great. The staff was knowledgeable on the marine life, on the great locations to dive, and after a few days it felt like I was diving with friends, and not just staff members. In total, I did 20 dives and each one of them was exceptional. The room was simple but clean & the air conditioning was welcoming on particularly humid days. A small refrigerator in the room would've been great, but definitely not a deal breaker. The food at the restaurant was always good, whether you had a pizza or a wrap or grilled lobster. I can't wait to come back!
“Splash Inn Dive Resort NOT Just For Divers”
I was in Roatan Honduras for 8 days on business and was having difficulty locating a hotel with available rooms during the dates I needed. Out of desperation I booked a room at the Splash Inn Dive resort and was extremely pleased with the room, the location and especially with the staff. Although my diving days are in the ancient past I will book this hotel again; The Restaurant was also excellent with the same quality employees as the rest of the facility. Room Tip: The rooms that are across the drive from the main Building are quieter and the grounds on that side...
“Dive Sites, Your Room & Dive Shop Just Steps Away!”
We stayed for a week in early November with a 15 dive package. The room and the dive package were very reasonable. Not a fancy room but worked just fine. They installed security cameras on all the walkways leading to the rooms during our stay...there is some crime in the West End...a good move on the managements' part. We enjoyed some great dinners at the restaurant and purchased a breakfast package with our room. Good and cheap restaurants are located just minutes away. There are some grocery stores just to the north by the Baptist Church. The West Bay Beach water taxi stand is right ouside and across the street. We never went to the beach...spent ALL our time diving. We enjoyed a quiet week at Splash Inn and would enjoy returning for another stay...but it's going to be in the DRY season! Plenty of clouds and rain during our stay.
We ate lunch here one day before going diving and both of our pizzas were fantastic! I had the Mediterranean pizza and couldn't stop eating it - wanted to eat there every day after that. Nice enough staff, fair price, filling and delicious 🙂
“Good Times, Great Staff”
hotel and dive shop are ocean-front...excellent position! Everyone was friendly, property clean and well maintained...my room was fresh with good sheets, a working air-conditioner, and a reasonable bed...maid did a great job daily! i found the diving shop to be professional, low-key affair...put your gear on the cart, walk to end of dock, small boat ride, fall into water! what could be easier? dive masters were all professional, knowledge-able,and safety conscience...they had excellent local knowledge, and i felt safe with them on every dive for 5 days. the price included breakfast each day, nothing special here, but eggs, toast and coffee...perfect for me! a local lady comes by the dive shop in the morning with baked goods...be sure to buy a cookie for the gas-off period between morning dives...boat does not return to dock till after both dives, so it's a good time for a snack. i would recomend this hotel and we will return next year, same place, same time! .....chris boise idaho
I would highly recommend this resort. You are right on the water, with a beach a minute away. There is a dive shop attached to the resort (not surprising), which is very convenient. The restaurant also attached to the resort is quite good. The room itself was very reasonably priced, large, with comfortable beds, fans & AC.
“Cheap lodging for divers traveling to the area”
My room was #18 which is one of the second floor rooms with the ocean view. The room only costed me $48/night as it was the low season for tourists while I was there. I liked the fact that I was able to send a check to the hotel's bank account in the U.S. for the entire amount for 7 nights lodging and 10 dives before I left home. By doing so, it saved me the 12% service charge for using a credit card to pay for everything with. The room had a tv with a ton of channels and the a/c worked very well, too. The cleaning lady did a superb job at keeping my room cleaned all week and the internet signal was good as well. I have no complaints whatsoever with this hotel and will definitely stay here again when I travel back to the island for diving in the future.
“Splash inn that's all you need”
The hotel and restaurant Staff was great, thanks to Edith, Marconi, Juan, Beenie, Cesar, Victor, Elizabeth, Keylin, Xiomara, Ingrid all very nice people. You have everything in one place, good food with beautiful view, nice hotel rooms, professional diving with your own dock, and you are in the middle of town that you can go anywhere from there. Can not wait to go back.
“Great dive shop, nice hotel room”
Hotel room was very nice for $50 with view to the ocean. However, the beaches around the area are bad, you have to go to West Bay for the beach. We spent most of our time diving so it was fine. The dive shop was very professional and nice. Diving in Honduras was so cheap and the reef was very beautiful!!! Definitely ask them to take you out to dive in West Bay (10-15 min boat ride). I will definitely come back for more diving. 5 stars for the hotel and dive shop. 3 for the location on the island and the restaurant was a little expensive.
“Great choice for diving in Roatan”
We recently returned from a 2 week dive vacation in Roatan. We stayed at the Splash Inn. The hotel provided a great location, rooms, restaurant, and dive operation. The hotel is in the center of town but set back so it's quiet. Everything in town is within walking distance, on a newly paved road. The room was nice, clean, and well maintained. We ate breakfast there everyday and also had lunch and dinner there a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it. The dive operation was great. Serena runs a great shop and couldn't have been more accomodating and hospitable. Justin and Estaban are great divemasters. They are very knowledgable, safety conscious, and easy going. It was great diving. The Splash Inn staff were all very gracious, courteous, and helpful. It's good when the hotel, dive ops, and dock are all located in one location without being an out of the way resort. We definitely plan to return.
“Excellent service, great location”
My dive buddy and I just got back from a week in Roatan drinking and diving (but not in that order). The Splash Inn ran a nice dive operation that was safe, efficient, and catered to the desires of the divers present. Justin was a great divemaster, safety-conscious, but easy-going and very knowledgeable. Serena ran a very pleasant and accomodating dive center. You get a lot of diving for the money, and it's great to have the dive shop, boat dock, and restaurant just steps away from your hotel room. The room was clean and far enough away from the noisy bars to be quiet at night, yet close enough to the action for a short walk to great bars and restaurants. We got the half-board package that allowed us to eat breakfast and lunch at the hotel, and gave us the chance to sample several types of restaurants for dinner. Most were very good and yet affordable.
“Best Scuba Hotel in Roatan”
If you're into scuba then the Splash Inn in the West End in Roatan is the place to go . West Beach is the big resort type hotels, which if you want that sort of thing then best go there. (you'll pay MUCH more and travel further for the best diving.) If you're mainly looking for scuba or snorkelling then this is the best location. The boat leaves right across the road, the dive shop is literally steps from the front of the hotel.(Great group of instructors at the Splash Inn dive shop). Owned by resident Italian ex-pats, it is clean, relaxed but efficient. The Italian restaurant serves great pizza! The hotel is in the heart of the west end, with lots of bars and restaurant choices. The rooms are air coned and very clean, well furnished with all the basics you will need and nothing you don't. The staff were friendly and always willing to help in any way they can. Snorkelling is literally a short walk away - 20' from the sandy beach behind the church, you'll find 50+ species of tropical fish in very shallow water. My wife joked with the owner that she dreamed of drinking a Pina Colada from a cocoanut and the next day he made it happen! Great service, laid back, clean and very well priced.
“Great Dive Shop and Hotel”
We run motorcycle tours throughout Guatemala and the rest of Central America. This was our first time back to Roatan in a few years and we're glad to find a great hotel/dive shop that we can use with our clients. The staff was helpful, very clean rooms, and the diving operation was very nice. Nothing bad to say, will definitely come back in the future.
“Great experience Excellence Surpassed”
I communicated with Adriana for several months before making final reservations. All of our room and diving reservations were exactly as promised. From the minute we walked onto the property we were greeted with smiles and friendly welcomes. You walk through the open air restaurant to the front desk. Check in was quick as everything was in order and we were taken to our room. We were upstairs facing the water and had a very nice view. The room was very clean throughout our stay and room service was excellent. Straight across the street is a long dock with a large seating area and loungers for sunbathing. We used them everyday and could simply enter the ocean and enjoy the 89 degree water. The restaurant serves great food and the wait staff is first class. Cash, Benny and Howard and all the rest of the crew were top notch. Always a smile and greeting, they introduced themselves so we were on a first name basis from the start. We really enjoyed the food and the outdoor grill chef prepared really tasty selections. The diving was also world class and the entire dive staff treated my wife and I like family. The crew briefed us on our upcoming dives and then provided us with professional guidance. We are very impressed with the well rounded dive staff from all around the globe. The boat captains were also great and took extra time to try to help us see whale sharks, which we did by the way. The dive locations were varied and extremely beautiful. My wife did the night dive to see the "string of pearls" and was really impressed. We both rate this resort and the diving at the top of our list and definetely are planning a return visit.
We had a fantastic time. Splash Inn strikes a great balance on comfort, convenience and price. ... Kudos to Adriana. ... Our main focus was our dives , and the dive center team - led be Serena - and our instructor (Senta) were extraordinary. Each dive was great. ... Our room was clean; the bed, very comfortable. Plenty of hot water, etc. ... The restaurant (which offers a good meal plan) was consistently good, including excellent grilled fish and meats. A waiter named Cash greeted us with a big smile and excellent service each day. ... When we wanted a dose of overbuilt and touristy beach, we hopped a water taxi in front of Splash Inn and (for just three dollars each) were on the West Bay in just ten minutes. ... It was the perfect vacation - and we left as qualified PADI advanced divers. Great fun.
“First visit to Roatan”
Perfectly located in West End, great service and attentive staff. Dive center excellent. Room clean, comfortable, with good amenities. Restaurant was superb. Across the street is Tong's--outstanding Thai cuisine. Recommend highly.
“Nice place for the price”
The first night our air conditioner went out and was dripping water. The manager got hold of the crew and it was fixed in an hour and a maid sent to keep the floor mopped. Very fast! The rooms were simple and clean. We walked down the steps to the dive shop or across the street to have breakfast in the morning, so all is close. At this time the main road out front is being paved so there was lots of trucks and noise from early morning to evening. The dive shop did a great job taking us out and we enjoyed the dive sites. We did get an ocassional dive master in training that got a little confused but that is just part of diving. I'd go back to this place again without a second thought. Thanks Splash!
“Great place in Roatan”
We checked many other places before going their, and defently it's the best value for money on the island. Rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff were very friendly, and it's located right in the center. The restaurant downstairs has great food.
“Great place to dive”
The Splash Inn is a good place to stay, but an even better place to dive with. The staff is friendly, the diving equipment is clean and new and safety is one of their priorities. I recommend it to anyone!
“Amazing stay and dives!”
travelled to Honduras for a week to dive by myself, and made friends immediately. The staff at the Splash Inn is kind and helpful, and extremely welcoming. The dive instructors are AWESOME. I'm going back in December!
“A great dive shop in West End”
I dove with Splash in during the month of July and they took very good care of me. The dive masters/instructors were all very knowledgable about the dives sites and took every opportunity to accomodate all the divers' needs. When divers made special requests like a night dive, the wreck, or West End Wall (my personal favorite), they made it happen. Their equipment is in good condition and they put safety first. Serena, the dive shop manager, is very personable and speaks many different languages. Justin took particularly good care of me and showed me all kinds of cool things under the water. If you're looking for a dive shop in West End, Splash Inn is the place to go.
“Fantastic Hotel in West End, Roatan”
Ok, I understand that it is pretty much impossible to write a bad review about any place on Roatan - this place is absolute paradise. This hotel only added to our already marvelous experience. It is centrally located in the middle of all the action in West End. That said, there was no problem with noise at all, notwithstanding the road construction that was going on, which has nothing to do with the hotel AND which was unavoidable in this comfortable little beach town with only one main road. The rooms are clean with very comfortable beds, and plenty of TV channels (for those who care about that). There was plenty of hot water. The restaurant has good Italian food and pizza, with hearty breakfasts. The people at the dive center were professional yet low key and friendly, and the diving was superlative. The rental equipment was in excellent condition. Might I add the prices were more than reasonable? I would stay here again with no reservations whatsoever!
“Great price, super clean, excellent location!”
My husband and i stayed at this hotel,, it was excellent for the price, paid only about $55 per night, it's not luxury but very clean, right in front of the the beach, there are a lot of restaurants close by (one that belongs to the hotel too) and if you want to go to West Bay (a must) you can cross the street and catch a water taxi. Excellent, but food is a little pricy all over, next time might go for an all inclusive,, but otherwise this was a great experience.
“Better than ever”
We have been traveling to Roatan for 20 years. We have seen a lot of changes, mostly good, in that time. On our previous trip in 1999 we were very disappointed at the change in ownership at what was Pura Vida. What had been one of the consistently good restaurants and well run hotels had turned for the worse. We booked the SPLASH INN for our trip this year since we heard that the original owners were back. We are very glad we did. The rooms were completely redone and looked great, and , the restaurant was back up to the old standards. The dive shop is steps from your room and the staff there is also top notch. Esteban and Justin did a wonderful job in taking us on great dives. As always, the WEST END is the place to relax and take your ease. Thanks to Adriana for bringing back the feel and service: PURA VIDA !
I stayed at Splash Inn for seven nights and it was a great experience. The hotel was nice, clean, and in a good location. What really made the experience great was the staff. Everyone there was so helpful and friendly by the time I left I felt like I had a ton of new friends. I would also highly recommend staying here because I think they may be the only hotel in the West End that has a generator I only know this because the power was out for most of the day in the West End during my stay but we still had power and air conditioning.
“Relaxing West End Style”
I traveled with a friend. We got an accommodation that was adequate and certainly reasonably priced. Once there, travel by taxi or bus was not necessary unless you wanted to see another part of the island. Diving, snorkeling, swimming, meals and other amenities were al available at the West End. The accommodation was clean though not high-end. The bed was especially comfortable - a firm mattress that provided one of my best travel sleeps in awhile. A good value and I would stay there again.
“Multiple stays at Splash Inn Resort...excellent as usual”
Just finished a month's stay at Splash inn diving. We were diving at least 2 dives per day for the entire month. Numerous friends joined us while there to enjoy the diving. Hotel, restaurant and dive operation is top notch. I recommend the place to anyone looking for a wonderful dive vacation at an extremely reasonable price. Ask for Adriana, Giacomo or Edith and Serena in the dive operation. You will not be disappointed.
“Clean and efficient”
The courtesy, friendliness, patience and professionalism of the dive staff was especially appreciated!.
My wife and I visited Splash Inn in March with our daughter. The two of us returned in June for a 7 night stay. We will be back! Everyone at Splash Inn is great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel, the restaurant, and the dive operation are all top notch...
“Great deal, friendly staff, fabulous location!”
Although I didn't choose Splash Inn for it's diving, I still found it to be a great choice. If you love diving, you'll be steps from it. The location is fabulous. Right in West End, you are a walk away from stores, bards, restaurants and the beach. The area has a small town feel with an exotic, tropical twist to it. The hotel looks great. The rooms are clean and neat and not a decent size. Staff is friendly and helpful. There's a restaurant in the lobby, it overlooks the turquoise seas and gorgeous sites. Great experience!.
Me gustó mucho estar allí.
Muchas gracias.
“Dive Dive Dive”
I spent two separate trips at Splash Inn. Words do not express the fun, staff friendliness, helpfulness that my and my friends has there. I made 12 dives and loved them all. The facilities are clean and nice. Nothing elaborate. The bar and food are some of the best on the west side. Military friendly with great prices!.
Still at the Splash Inn at this moment having dinner... Food is amazing, been eating sea food and fish all week and it is delicious... In the heart of the West End, walking distance from everything, a 5 minutes water taxi ride from the best beach, West Bay... diving center people are really nice, all restaurant staff is great though our favourite is Cash... Did a guided tour of the island with him today, nice to see local villages and the other part of the island. Hotel rooms are spacious and clean. snorkeling, for those of you who do not dive, is amazing. Just yesterday, snorkeling from West Bay, we saw lobsters, barracudas, puffer fish, trunk fish, scorpion fish, name it we saw it... I used to go to 5 star resorts all the time so was a bit disapointed at the beginning but would come back here any time. Locals are very friendly, island is really safe...
“Great West End Experience”
The folks at Splash Inn definitely do it right. Clean, comfy rooms, great dive operation, and friendly staff. They picked us up at the airport and we were relaxing with the iciest Salva Vidas in West End shortly after. Room rates are great and so is the food. Highly recommend Splash inn to anyone who wants to stay in West End.
“A Must Dive!!”
I went to Splash Inn in January 2012 with a group of McDaniel College students for a gym credit, which is sweet just in itself. I have been very fortunate to dive in many places but hands down the diving in Roatan with Splash Inn was amazing. Most of the dive sites are very close. Dive sites you have to hit up are Canyon Reef if you like swim though's, Eel Garden to see the garden eels, and Hole in the Wall for a deep dive. We did about 30 dives while we were down for two weeks and most of those dives we saw turtles. Most of the group I was with were not certified divers but the Splash Inn staff worked hard and took lots of responsibility to help the students learn to dive. A very professional and knowledgeable dive staff. But there is so much more to do while taking your surface interval because Splash Inn is located a short walk to many bars, restaurants, stores, piers, and a small beach. I recommend the Wet Spot and Eagle Rays. I can't wait to go back ASAP.
“Best Price for West End!”
Splash Inn didn't disappoint. It was convenient because it allowed a one night reservation and cost around $50/night..
“we had an AWESOME time in Roatan!”
Was very sad to to get a chance to meet with you as you went back to Italy. Anyway, we had an AWESOME time in Roatan and I left a very positive comment on trip advisor for you 😉 Get friend with me on FB… I am already with your sis!!. Thank again for everything, was great vacations!! Take care.
“professional diving school!”
Only went diving twice w. Splash Inn, but had a great time! Professional instructors, and most important...a gorgeous area to dive! Seen tons of wildlife and coral, amazing! Thank you Splash Inn!.
Better than we expected! Very clean, nice staff, big bed comfortable, huge shower. In the center of everything in the village (bar, restaurant, dive center...). There are also a lot of dive center but we went with splash inn and get very satisfied. We did our rescue diver course, not easy but how interesting! Very professional and organized team. Cheap taxi to go to Coxen Hole and water taxi to go to West Bay (wonderful beach). West End Beach is near but we usually used the dock to swim into the water. Very friendly place and I recommend it to everybody. I went with my boyfriend but we plan to do it with friends next time.
“Great area, big clean rooms, nice staff, good value”
Really good place to stay - the area is amazing, everything is close, food is good, rooms big and clean, staff is helpful. Great for groups, couples, kids.
“Great value in the West End”
Excellent value for the money! If you want to be in the middle of everything, close to everything and not spend a lot of money, Splash Inn is the place to stay. My husband and I stayed there for three nights and had the best experience: super clean large room, very friendly staff, excellent food. We chose the option that included breakfast and were not disappointed. We ate dinner there too and the seafood risotto is to die for. I will definitely go back!.
My 3rd visit and gets better every time. The resort's BBQ is fantastic, monkey lalas are second to none, clean, friendly staff, and the dives are great. Can't wait for my next vacation.
“Splash Inn is definitely "it".”
I just wanted to let you know how much we loved our stay at the Splash Inn: the room, the food, and the personal connection with you and your staff. You are amazing! My husband and I are looking forward to our future visits to Roatan and I am glad we will not have to research where to stay. Splash Inn is definitely "it". I wish you and your family the very best.
“Excellent Hotel/Dive Center in West End, Roatan.”
Adriana, Serena and the entire staff of Splash inn are ready to make your trip to Roatan perfect. These people arranged everything for us, airport pick up, great ocean view room, delicious meals right on time and with great service, and most of all, unbelievable diving. We stayed with them 7 days and in my case diving up to 3 times per day almost every day. Every diving trip guided by a dive instructor (sometimes 2), very focused on safety, equipment is in excellent shape so you are diving comfortable and confident as if it was your own gear. The best for us was their great attitude to make our time there the best and enjoy with us as well, besides their ability to meet our vacation schedule and objectives (basically there was nothing we wanted to do, that they could not provide or arrange, they have the accommodation, dive center, restaurant, qualified staff, boats, everything!) they also were masters at dealing with our changing schedules as our vacation progressed always making sure we would feel comfortable, happy, relaxed and still meet our vacation goals. These people really cared about us having the best time, i did not think about money for a minute during the whole week and in the end when it was time to review our hotel, diving, restaurant, tours bill; I was very pleased with the affordability and great quality of service. I'm definitely returning and highly recommending it!
"Awesome! Best vacation ever!”
I love this place...I can not describe how wonderful the room and resturant was to me. The dive shop was wonderful to my daughter and husband...while they were diving, I loved hanging out at the resturant and pier of the Splash Inn. Shopping was just a step away from the porch...loved finding new places with every adventure away from the hotel...and all within walking distance. All week the staff at the resturant made me feel at home and catered to my every need...thank you Victor, Benny and Sean! I miss you and send you lots of love! The food was awesome! The room was clean! I will be back!
Molto ben gestito. Ci tornerei cento volte.
"They were wonderful to me and my family.”
I left on Monday and wanted to tell you how much I miss Victor, Benny, and Sean. They were wonderful to me and my family. Please tell Victor and Benny that I wanted to tell each of them bye and give them a hug... but I would have cried! They are truly awesome as were everyone else on staff there at the hotel, restaurant, and dive shop. I hope to see everyone again soon!
"Great place to stay”
Just got back home from spending 7 nights at Splash Inn. Room was cleaned daily. Size of room was good. Beds were comfortable- air conditioning in the room. Only complaint is that there is no fridge in the room. Splash Inn offers a great restaurant and dive shop on site. Splash Inn is located in the middle of West End and is within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping. Directly across the street from water taxi pier. This was a great place to stay and a great price. We will go back soon and stay here again.
"Excellent diving experience and comfortable/clean/cheap accommodations”
Excellent group of staff at the dive shop. Rooms were cleaned daily, restaurant had excellent food. Great experience.
"A classy and affordable accommodation!”
This hotel provided a great lodging experience for my family, at an affordable price. There is excellent air conditioning in every room, and the restaurant downstairs overlooks the ocean. The staff was real helpful, even calling a taxi cab for us when we needed to go to the airport. If you are looking for a genuine and real affordable place to stay when visiting Roatan, please stay here! Thank you, Paul.
"Great trip, Roatan was great.”
How we found Splash Dive: We found Splash Dive Inn on Hotels.com I couldn't believe how reasonable the price was ($59.00). We flew into Roatan and took a cab into "West End" ($20). The hotel is what I would typically refer to as a "boutique hotel", it has a common eating area deck (restaurant) that overlooks the ocean, exposed hallways leading to the rooms. The check-in area is also in this area. The hotel staff was fantastic; check-in was easy. My initial impression of the staff was very positive. They were nice folks and were trying hard to keep their guests happy. Rooms: Our room on the 2nd floor was spotless. The bed quality was good and the TV had a multitude of English speaking channels. There was also WIFI in the room (and common areas). Restaurant: The highlight of our morning was breakfast served by Victor (and sometimes Sean). Great conversations and again just great folks who started our morning right. The Ocean: There is a beach in West End which you can walk to from the hotel (about 2 minutes). I actually liked swimming from the hotels dock which had lounge chairs where you could enjoy some solitude. The main beach is "West Bay" which is a scenic 5 minute (3 dollar) boat ride away. The water taxis dock directly across from the hotel. They are available at all hours. The Feel of Roatan: If you are a fan of CanCun type hotels (big hotels and cosmopolitan areas) you likely wont like Roatan. Roatan (and West End) is much more quaint than even Playa del Carmen. Its basically a dive village with dirt roads and small cafes and shops. We absolutely LOVED it. You can let it all hang out without worrying about how your dressed etc. Safety/People: We felt much safer than any other island we ever went to. I'm candid with my reviews and will say that I wouldn't bother going back to some Caribbean locations because I didn't like how they treated us. Roatan is not one of these. The people of this island were helpful and genuine. Just an important note: Bring U.S. Currency, Don't rely on ATM's they are spotty at best (Visa is more accepted than MC). Also the exit fee from the island ($38.00) needs to be paid in cash at the airport. Funny story about this is we partied away most of our cash and the ATM wouldn't work, the lady at the tourism office (in airport) actually gave us about $10 out of pocket that we were short. Like I said great folks.
"We found Splash Dive Inn on Hotels.com”
We just put the below review on Trip Advisor, it will take a few days to post. Thanks again and tell Victor the Porters didnt forget about him How we found Splash Dive: We found Splash Dive Inn on Hotels.com I couldnâ€t believe how reasonable the price was ($59.00). We flew into Roatan and took a cab into “West End†($20). The hotel is what I would typically refer to as a “boutique hotelâ€, it has a common eating area deck (restaurant) that overlooks the ocean, exposed hallways leading to the rooms. The main beach is “West Bay†which is a scenic 5 minute (3 dollar) boat ride away. Iâ€m candid with my reviews and will say that I wouldnâ€t bother going back to some Caribbean locations because I didnâ€t like how they treated us. Roatan is not one of these. The people of this island were helpful and genuine. Just an important note: Bring U.S. Currency, Donâ€t rely on ATMâ€s they are spotty at best (Visa is more accepted than MC). Also the exit fee from the island ($38.00) needs to be paid in cash at the airport. Funny story about this is we partied away most of our cash and the ATM wouldnâ€t work, the lady at the tourism office (in airport) actually gave us about $10 out of pocket that we were short. Like I said great folks.
"Wonderful,I'll go back again”
The price is very reasonable. My room is spacious, with fan, air condition, abundant hot water, and a big closet for all my clothes hanging up. Unfortuntly, there is no hairdryer in the room, which is essential for a girl. I need to wash hair after diving everyday. The front desk was very helpful, they found a hairdryer for me immedially. You can leave money and passport in hotel's safety-box, not open 24 hours, because only one girl has the key. I booked half board, there are a lot choices in the menu. I had sea food always. Once I orderd a salad and a main course for a meal offered, the portion was huge for 2 persons, and the kitchen can keep your unfinished dishes for the next meal. The dive shop is next to hotel, dock is in front of hotel, what a convenient! Monica is a wonderful and professional dive master. She took care of every diver, and good at searching crab, lobster, special fish, etc. I had wonderful diving experience with her. I will go back Splash Inn again. Splash Inn.
"I had wonderful experience to stay in Splash Inn, and diving.”
I had wonderful experience to stay in Splash Inn, and diving. Please pass the photos and following message to Serena and Monica. Monica: I am so glad to dive with you. You are the best dive master. Hope to see you again. Serena: I am the girl for shark diving but without sharks for 2 days!! I am so glad to dive with your dive shop. You have good dive masters. The photo is you and another diver Gerry from Canada. I will go back Splash Inn with my friend in March. See you next year.
"Good (reasonable) West End hotel/restaurant/dive shop”
Rooms basic, but roomy and very clean. Would have been nice to have a small fridge, and better bedside lights to read by. Nice size shower with lots of hot water. Any maintenance issues were quickly taken care of by the hotel staff. Room was quiet. Note: I would say that most rooms are not ocean view (as advertised). Restaurant has good food at reasonable prices (nice thin crust pizza). Wifi was available at the restaurant, hotel & dive shop (multiple routers). Great having the dive boats just across the road from the hotel/dive shop. Dive shop has rinse tanks for your gear but I think they could have been changing the water in them a bit more frequently. Storage available for your dive gear. It would have been nice to have a clothes line or rack in the hotel rooms for personal items such as bathing suits & beach towels rather than having to drape them over the shower rod. Nice beach down the street at Half Moon Bay.
"Really enjoyed staying at your resort”
Really enjoyed staying at your resort. I'm a clean freak and was very pleased with the cleanliness of the room. I had booked it for my entire trip there earlier, but wanted to see other places to get an idea of what they were like. Wish I had stayed the entire time at yours instead.
"una buona scelta”
sono stato ospite di questa struttura per 15 giorni, dal 29.01.2012. Devo dire che è stata un ottima scelta tra le tante proposte, sia per la posizione centrale in West End, sia per l'ottimo ristorante che per il diving della Padi (con attrezzatura nuova) sempre di questa struttura e, tutti, con ottimi prezzi concorrenziali.
I stayed for two weeks at the Splash Inn Feb. 2012. My room was large and clean. The bed was very comfortable. I must say, a more comfortable chair in the room would be an good improvement. I had breakfast included with my room which was a great start to the day. The Honduran coffee is especially delicious. When it rains, West End streets get muddy. The housekeeping staff did a great job cleaning the sand from my room. As I was there to dive (32 times) I found everything so convenient. Just steps from my room to the Dive shop then only a few minutes boat ride to many great dive sites. The dive boat often had between 4 to 8 divers on board. The dive masters and captains were very attentive, friendly and professional. Amongst the dive staff several languages were spoken. Communicating was never much of a problem. The Splash Inn Dive Shop provided this wonderful international flavor. It was great to meet fellow divers from around the world and share adventure stories over a beer or two in the restaurant, at the end of the day, of course. I took my own dive equipment, however many divers used the equipment provided by the Splash Inn dive shop. The shop's equipment was in excellent condition. Next time, I will only pack my mask, regs and computer. The Splash Inn and Dive shop is great place for a perfect dive vacation.
I stayed here for a week with my girlfriend and loved it. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were a great price and an amazing value for what you got. I was honestly shocked at how nice the rooms were. The Dive staff was also amazing. Everyone was very friendly, very helpful, accommodating, etc. Overall a perfect experience. Thank you Splash Inn!!!!
"Wonderful place to stay and dive with.”
I recently spent 2 weeks at Splash Inn as part of a group of 21 college students. The majority of our group received their PADI certification through the dive shop, and had nothing but compliments for the instructors. Overall, the restaurant has wonderful food (especially the breakfast), the staff of the dive shop (dive masters and the boat captains) was amazing, the diving was some of the best I've ever done, and the hotel staff was always pleasant and helpful. God bless the housekeepers who tried their best to keep the sand off the floor in my room. Would I stay and dive there again? I can't wait to go back.
"This is the place to stay in Roatan!”
If you wanna get certified or just go on a fun dive, Splash inn is the place to go. The staff is awesome, the atmosphere is great. I will deffinintly go back!
"Best lodging deal in West End”
Been there from jan 5-12 2012. I was given a great spacy room with big windows, very clean, lots of room for storage. AC included, 350$ for the week. The only thing missing would have been a fridge, but that seems to be a very rare commodity in West End lodgings generally speaking. Staff very friendly, great dive shop affiliated with the hotel (good prices, good staff, I highly recommend it). The location is the best, in the middle of the main west end road, right next to the water taxi station, but luckily not immediately surrounded by bars (although close enough to the very popular Blue Marlin to hear some noise up to midnight sometimes.. but it did not keep me from sleeping and I'm generally pretty sensitive to that stuff). Restaurant good enough, although I liked exploring the other west-end restaurants ... Besos (fancy and quality) and Mama earth (healthy food, yoga classes and cute hummingbirds there) were my favorite. Good luck for finding coffe (go to Reef Gliders) or tea though... splash inn is actually one the few places where you can get tea. I have walked through the different hotels in West End and I honestly think this is the best deal one can get for lodging in that area. Don't expect great beaches in west end... it's actually a big dirt road, so ladies, beware of the accident potential if you try wearing high heels (you should take the water taxi to West bay for the beach experience, 3$ one way... ), but splash inn has long chairs on their dock so you can still relax and enjoy sunsets. Finally, do expect brutal and massive sandfly bites on all island... bring insect repellents (don't waste your time with citronella : you'll need Deet!). It's a lovely place though, lots of activities on the island and if you're diving, you'll love it even more!
We are already planning a return trip
Good morning Adriana. Once again, I'd like to thank you and your team for a wonderful stay - we thoroughly enjoyed every day and are already planning a return trip. Thanks, Russell
I'm still dreaming I'm there!
I'm still dreaming I'm there! What a great little hotel; very simple, but very clean. Splash Inn has many loyal workers who have been with the family for many years; I was so impressed by the kindness and excellent service. The dive shop was super professional, flexible, helpful and lots of fun. They kept the dive groups small with a great ratio of divemasters on the boat, and they all speak 4-5 languages! The prices for meals, lodging and diving are all very reasonable and I never had one bad meal (many excellent meals; fresh lobster, mahi mahi!) West End is a funky little town, nothing fancy or upscale, and Splash Inn is right in the thick of it....walking distance to many beaches, restaurants, gift shops, bars, live music. I can't wait to go back! Now I understand why Splash Inn has so many return divers! Thank you so much Adriana, Jackomo and Serena!
"We loved the visit and will be back soon!”
We loved the visit and will be back soon. Thanks!
"We had a great time!...”
Thank you! We had a great time diving and appreciated your very good service. Hope to be back and spend some days diving in the future. Tim & Jill Rowland (friends of Lindsey)
"Thank you again for your hospitality!”
Hi Adriana, I did enjoy my stay with you very much, thanks. Your hotel is very clean and safe! Johann
"Gracias desde la Patagonia!”
Estimados amigos. Saludos cordiales!
"The best choice”
I've spent 17 days diving, sleeping and eating at the Splash Inn and all I can say is that I'm looking forward to going back there. The rooms are very nice and clean, the italian restaurant is one of the best options in the whole island (best ravioli ever!) and the staff both at the hotel and at the restaurant are very friendly. And believe me, when you go to Roatán you meet lots of people and I've heard some really horrible stories about people staying in other places. The only thing that could be improved is that the rooms have no access to a kitchen, so you always have to eat outside, which is more expensive than being able to making your own meals. And what can I say about the dive center? I've made my Advanced Open Water, my emergency First Response, my Rescue Diver, my Enriched Air specialty and my Deep Dive specialty with them, so I've had the chance to dive with all of the staff and learn from all of them. They all became my little "roatanian" family. I really enjoyed the island and I will surely go back sometime. And undoubtedly I will stay, eat and dive with them again.
"I will not even consider looking up any other hotel in Roatan”
I had promised the owner to post a comment on my last trip made, several months ago, so here I go. Where can I begin?? Splash Inn has eveything, godd rates, good equipment and guides for scuba, great location, friendly staff and good food. When ever I came back from walking, scuba or partyng, i felt like Spalsh Inn was my little home in paradise. As mentioned on the title, I would not consider to look up any other hotel in Roatan. I have to admit that I was worried, when I could not find the Old Pura Vida
"A great time!”
I did my "Scuba Diver" PADI certification with Spash Inn Dive Resort while my girlfriend did a refresher course. With the discounts they gave us for doing the diving and staying at their hotel we ended up only having to pay $40 for three nights accomodation. Although the accomodation is in one of their lesser quality rooms (A/C would cost an extra $10/night) it was still a good room in a clean hotel. The diving itself was excellent. Our instructor, Caroline, was awesome. She is extremely knowledgable, very experienced, and full of positive energy. She made me feel that I was safe and in good hands the whole time. My only regret is that I didn't stay long enough to complete my open water!
"Great staff and equipment”
Before I arrived in Roatan I contacted the dive manager Serena who was very prompt with her reply and very helpful. She went out of her way to work in with our very limited time in Roatan. The dive instructors were really incredible, the boats they had are in great condition and they have great equipment. There is wifi at the dive centre which is great because before, between and after dives I could keep myself busy. Highly recommended, thanks!
"We'll be sending people your way for sure!!!”
Hi Splash! We had such a great time and thank you sooo much for everything!!! We'll be sending people your way for sure!!!

"Nos sentimos como en casa, volveremos!”
Fuimos a bucear mi mujer y yo.

Hi Adriana, I had a wonderful visit at your Resort. Your staff was friendly and their customer service was impeccable. Special thanks to Tristan for a great dive! I look forward to my next trip to Roatan. Patty
"Great diving and great service”
I took a diving certification course here and it was great. My instructor Kristian was amazing and the other people who work at the dive shop were kind, patient, and great teachers. The hotel owners also worked with us on a few things and were quite accommodating. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and go diving here again. Some of the desk people are a little useless if you actually need anything, but the owners are great so they kind of made up for it in my opinion.
"Diving in Paradise and Style”
"Great time. Sure to Return”
We recently spent 10 days at Splash Inn on a dive trip with firends. Cannot say enough about how friendly and helpful everyone was. The diving was great and all the divemasters were extremely well qualified and attentive. We are looking forward to our next trip to Roatan and plan on staying at the Splash Inn again.
"Friendly, safe, great value for money and just downright awesome”
Initially planned on staying for 3 days but ended up staying at Splash Inn for a whole 9 days, ditching plans to go to Utila. Loved the owners Jacque and Adriana who were friendly and warm and gave us a very decent deal for accommodation and diving. We got our PADI Open Water Cert with them. The dive shop manager Sevan and all the dive masters were excellent, knowledgeable and very meticulous on all the dives, taking time to check out gear and prep us. They remembered our names and all our personal gear required. Fun dives were very enjoyable and even did a night dive with them. Estavan and Caroline were by far my favorites coz I genuinely believed that they truly wanted to show us a good time. Caroline even buddy breathed with me so I could stay down and enjoy the ocean for a bit longer which was very much appreciated. We didn't have to go far to see much sea life but we definitely saw a lot, sea turtles, morays, barracudas etc.. All the staff, even the boat captains (loved them), were just so friendly and fantastic, checking our gear too, talking me through my nerves, and made you feel really more reassured when you were doing something new like diving for the first time. Rooms were clean and everything worked well like Wi-Fi (free) and A/C. Felt safe leaving valuables in room and even with Adriana in her safe. Staff at restaurant were very accommodating and service was great!!! Location was right smack in the middle of town... Great choice for food all over. Overall, this was an excellent good value place for staying and diving with staff that were fabulous. I'd totally 110% recommend it to anyone going to Roatan, West End
"Great dive shop and instructors!”
Took the discover dive course with Estevan and Caroline and they were great ! I saw giant starfish, schools of fish, beautiful coral, turtles etc! I felt safe and very confident with them under the water! Bubbles Up!
"Best on the Island”
Splash Inn is the best place to stay and dive if you are on Roatan. The owners and employees are friendly and will always greet you with a smile. I stayed in the dorms for 2 weeks while completing my Advanced and Rescue Diver Certification. These dorms are not your typical dorms though. There are 3 beds in the room, you get daily cleaning service, air conditioning, cable TV, and a very nice bathroom. Plus, if you're doing a dive course, you will stay for free. If not, it's $10.
Everything is brand new and the Italian restaurant that just opened has some great pizza. Some minor construction projects are still being completed, but they generally do their work in the middle of the day (so they don't disturb their guests). Lastly, the diveshop and instructors are what make this place amazing. Esteban and Caroline are the best instructors I've ever had. They will give you some great diving experiences! Oh and ask Esteban about his Shark Diving course. I came to Roatan expecting to backpack from hostel to hostel but once I found this place, I didn't want to leave. Thanks guys and gals. Brian
"Loved it - recommendation”
I stayed there with 13 other young people. Good experience, the service was great. Very friendly - just ask the receptionist and she'll help you with everything. Great location in West End, Roatan. Sleep quality was great - relatively quiet. Food in the hotel resaurant is very good too (fx Italian) - a bit pricy compared to the mainland, but that's how it is in West End and West Bay. If you're interested in diving it's even better - the hotel is a dive center too (PADI). Roatan is a great place to dive. I will recommend Splash Inn to everybody who would like to stay in the richer part of Roatan (West End or West Bay) - especially if you're a dive or wants to take a dive certificate. Splash Inn = European standards!
Torneremo sicuramente.
"Best place to dive with fun!”
Splash Inn, in Roatan, is the perfect place to stay & dive. Thanks to Caroline, Esteban & Serena, we had an awesome trip. Very serious, professional & fun, this is the place you want to go. They'll do everything to help you find what you want in the water, and makes the best dives they can, trust them they'll get it for you! The courses are awesome and very professional. We recommand it to everybody! We'll be back soon! Max & Cyndi
"Diving in Paradise and Style”
The Splash Inn Dive Resort was fabulous! The instructors were fantastic and helpful. Besides being great dive instructors, they pointed out everything from whale sharks, turtles, sting rays, and crustaceans, they also had a ton of recommendation about what to do on the island. The dive equipment was all brand new Mares equipment and was great. The boat trip out to the reef ranged from 2 to 10 minutes so you didn’t have to bring a day’s worth of supplies aboard.
The hotel was very nice and clean with an Italian restaurant with good pizza if you get tired of the local rice and chicken. You can site back on the patio and watch the sun set over the water. When I go back to Roatan I will be staying at Splash Inn Dive Resort again!
"Splash Inn Dive Resort is the place to stay in Roatan!”
Our church mission team from Scottsdale, AZ made a brief but very enjoyable stay with Adriana and her resort Splash Inn Dive Resort. All 13 of us enjoyed the clean, air-conditioned accommodations. The on the premise Italian restaurants' food was excellent-no surprise the owner, Adriana, is Italian- and the staff was very helpful. We snorkeled off the beach and enjoyed the beautiful sunset in the evening. I personally am looking forward to a return visit soon!
"Dive Shop was Superb”
Enjoyed diving with Caroline and Esteban, great instructors, patient and knowledgable, super service from Serena, and had a wonderful time!
"Thank you for the stay”
Dear Adriana and Splash Inn
Thank you for the week we were on Roatan. It was great, and the whole group enjoyed our stay. I have recommended you to the future groups. Maybe I'll see you in the future - if I return to Roatan, I'll let you know - and stay at Splash Inn.
Best regards, Matilde Thorsen
Your staff was very accommodating and friendly. Hope to see you next year. You have a beautiful property.

Hola Adriana! Sigan adelante asi.
"Splash Inn a great place to stay”
The Island Roatan is the new secret of the Caribbean and most people do not even know where this beautiful island and its magnificent beaches are located. I am going to let you into the secret, Roatan is some 40 miles off the coast of Honduras and it has direct flights to and from many major US cities. Miami is only two hours away.
Pirates of the Caribbean is based on the real life pirate times of the Bay Islands of which Roatan is one and there are real life pirate places such as Port Royal, Coxen Hole and French Harbour, to name just a few. For me the place to stay is West End where the main street is made of sand and I can literally throw a stone into the magnificent waters of the Caribbean Sea from my room at the Splash Inn. The Inn is situated right in the middle of West End where the action is.
If live rock music is your forte with little bars and cute restaurants then this definitely for you. Splash Inn was recently tastefully refurbished by its owners and the Inn is comfortable, air conditioned, not expensive, has its own Italian Restaurant and friendly staff.
If you are a diver then Roatan is on the second biggest Barrier Reef in the World, and many say it has better diving than the more famous Australian Barrier Reef. I am not a diver but I enjoy going back to Roatan for the simplicity of this beautiful island, magnificent beaches, stunning views and its warm people, most of whom speak English and, of ourse, the Splash Inn.
“Fabulous dive shop & accomodation”
I spent the month of february 2011 at Splash, the dive center is great and all the equipment is new. The team including the manager, owner, dive instructors, boat captain were all excellent. Safe and exciting diving in a relaxed atmosphere. I completed my rescue diving course and EFR course and I was very satisfied with the instruction and support I recieved. The diving was good value for money and on most dives the groups were small.
I stayed in the accomodation which was modern and very clean, with new furniture and Tv's. The room was well decorated, a good size and more than adequate for my needs. Pleaser note I would describe this as 'clean tastefully decorated' dive center accomodation but it is not a luxury hotel so don't get confused... I would highly recommend the dive center and the accomodation.
“I am really glad I happened upon this place”
I really enjoyed my stay here of just over week. I came to dive and the Splash Inn gave me competitively priced dives. However, I'm also glad I happened upon this place because all their diving equipment was brand spanking new and the dive groups were small. Several times I dived with just a Dive Master and no other divers. The hotel room was also awesome. They had a very economical dormitory option. When they showed me the room I thought they were showing me a private room. Just two beds and had a TV and own washroom. The rooms and other areas of the hotel were immaculately kept. The hotel is conviently located right next to the dive shop.
The divemasters planned well so that I did not return to a previously dived site. The three divemasters I dived with were all really good to me.
I have no complaints about the hotel's restaurant. It is true that it probably has the best coffee in Roatan. I tended not to eat there however, so can't really comment fully.
“The best dive-shop I ever tested”
Just wanted to post a review on the dive shop. I was really impressed by the quality of their equipment and services. As I understand there have been some turmoil with the change of ownership recently (the previous name of the shop was Pura Vida), so the current owners and staff are doing now everything possible to earn good reputation. And they are really well worth it.
The equipment is brand new (some two months as of Jan 2011), I even had to adjust my usual weight-belt numbers to compensate for the higher buoyancy. Serena at the front desk is super-friendly and attentive, the dive-master Pino is probably the best I have met during my diving life. The groups are really small - during my three days of diving we had from 2 to 5 persons each day. I even tried to persuade my wife to get a license there - I could have only dreamt about such instructors 8 years ago when I got my license in Cuba.
They have a very convenient package system in a sense that you don't have to guarantee and prepay any fixed number of dives - just sign the slip and get a discount when diving more than 5 or 10 times.
