Have you ever dropped something in the water and wished you knew exactly how to find it? The Search and Recovery course teaches you the effective underwater search patterns and rigging techniques used by professionals to locate and safely bring lost objects back to the surface. It’s a challenging, highly rewarding course that builds incredible confidence and navigation skills.

This course is perfect for divers who enjoy a challenge, love underwater navigation, or want to learn practical utility skills. To sign up, you must be at least [12 or 15] years old and hold a minimum certification of [Advanced Open Water Diver / Open Water Diver with a Navigation Specialty]. If you want to expand your problem-solving abilities underwater, this is the course for you.

The Search and Recovery course is an active, hands-on specialty completed over two days. We will send you your E-Learning materials ahead of time so you can review the theory before arriving, leaving your entire vacation open for practical application.
 
A typical course consists of:
  • Digital theory chapters covering search theory, safety protocols, and knot-tying
  • Practical shore or confined water training on land/shallow water to practice search patterns and lift bag rigging
  • 2 open water training dives where you will deploy various search patterns (such as the spiral or grid search) and safely bring heavy objects to the surface using a lift bag

The course fee of US$250 (+ tax) is fully inclusive. It covers all your E-Learning materials, standard dive equipment rental, specialized training gear (compasses, lines, reels, and lift bags), boat fees, and your digital Search and Recovery Specialty certification card upon graduation.

Once certified, you will be proficient in organizing and executing search-and-recovery operations for lost items with a buddy. You will have a much sharper sense of underwater navigation and a masterful control over your buoyancy while managing tasks.
